Gallery Artist, Marilyn Hageman Borglum, will be exhibiting her newest equestrian artwork along with her urban drawings.

Gallery Flux would like to invite you to be a special part of our upcoming show, Portrait of the Horse: Fine Art by Marilyn Borglum opening on Thursday, October 2nd.

Marilyn, who is a nationally known equine artist, will be in town October 1st through October 5th to visit barns and gather information needed for your personal commissions. We are in the process of scheduling appointments and don’t want you to miss out on this unique opportunity. Please call us to set up your appointment at 804.752.3540!

Marilyn earned her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting with a strong emphasis in Lithographic printmaking. Her work during this period focused on the form and gesture of the horse, which had long been a theme throughout her years in art school as well as in her formative years. All of Marilyn's work is strongly rooted in traditional and formal skills along with problem solving, which is evident in her work. In addition to her gestural equine drawings, Marilyn is intrigued with painting life-size horses. Her drive and desire to depict the horse on a grand scale is shared by other artists in her family, the most celebrated of the lineage being Gutzon and Solon Borglum, both recognized for their monumental work of horses and figures. Gutzon of course is best known for the commissioned work Mount Rushmore Memorial and the torch for The Statue of Liberty. She and her three sons reside west of Chicago in Saint Charles Illinois.
